Vision Systems has been involved in the installation of electronic security systems at many of the Fonterra Milk Processing Plants throughout the country.  The most recent installation was at the newest plant in Darfield which includes the largest milk dryer in the Southern Hemisphere and was an 18-month construction programme.

This involved the installation of an extensive card access control systems controlling around 80 doors and six cantilever gates across roads and rail tracks with interlocking doors for Red Line Safety.  The system installed was the Gallaghers Access Management System, a product which is widely used throughout the Fonterra network.

As part of this access control system, Nedap Long Range Readers were installed which have been critical in allowing Fonterra Milk Trucks to gain authorised access through gates without interaction with the driver or significant slowing of speed.

An IP Intercom system has been installed to allow visitor and contractor access to secured areas by communication through to any phone on site.

An IP CCTV system has been installed using Milestone for the video management along with around 65 Axis cameras that are used for both security and safety needs.
